| Mary Ann Bridgwater, a third-generation Houstonian and graduate of the University of Houston has been married to Roger Bridgwater since 1975. They have two daughters: Kay Altic, who ministers alongside her husband Jerrell in the Missions Department of Houston's First Baptist Church, and Jane Ann, who recently graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University, and will be attending the Focus on the Family Institute in the fall. Mary Ann considers the girls to be gifts from God to Roger and her. They enjoy teaching the girls truth regarding the kingdom of God and cherish serving in ministry with them. |
|
Mary Ann joined Houston's First Baptist Church in November 1979 and since 1986, has been involved in missions and teaching others how to pray. Her teaching on preparing the heart for entering into the presence of God can easily be followed by applying her acrostic PRAY - Praise and thanksgiving, Repentance, Asking and Yielding. This is one of many simple teaching tools preparing individuals to pray the Word, which is central to Mary Ann's life message. |
| Currently, Mary Ann and Roger serve on the Mission Council at Houston's First Baptist Church, and Mary Ann serves in leadership and training for intercession and mobilization for a number of the HFBC ministries. Mary Ann has authored numerous Prayer Guides, and most recently, "Building a House of Prayer" and "A Prayer Covering for Staff." God led Mary Ann as co-founder and president of PROMISE REAPERS, Inc. to conduct cross-denominational, citywide prayer gatherings for spiritual awakening. Pray the Word Ministries is a Division of Promise Reapers, Inc. |
| Pray the Word Ministries is another ligament Mary Ann uses to provide the Christian community with an inter-denominational, multi-racial/ethnic prayer opportunity to guide participants as they come together in prayer for the spiritual needs of men, women, families, pastors, pastor's wives and the lost of their communities. Most recently, Pray the Word has been involved in prayer mobilization and activity through Houston Prays, Houston Area Pastor Council, KSBJ Sharathon, HFBC Road Trip and Houston Project, and prayer covering for Living Proof Ministries events. The prayer guides that are written have proven to be used by God through praying the Word as a living and active tool to teach, encourage and support as well as mobilize the local church throughout the nation, by states, cities and communities. |
