We pray Your word Lord God, that You will give our pastor insight so our church can reach out to the world, the salvation You offer to us. "I pray our pastor will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon him; and he shall be Your witness both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth" (Acts 1:8 NASB).
Lord, we pray that You will give our pastor endurance and diligence as he serves and encourages others. "I pray that our pastor speaks the truth in love. May he grow in every way into You, Lord, who is the head - Christ. From Him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself in love by the proper working of each individual part" (Ephesians 4:14-16 CSB).
Lord, we pray Your Word for pastors today. We pray that you will give our pastor extra wisdom and strength to love others and promote harmony in the body of Christ. "I pray our pastor walks worthy of the calling he has received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting others in love, diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds us" (Ephesians 4:1b-3 HCSB).
Lord God, we pray that our pastor will lead his family with grace. "I pray every man . . . [without exception] loves his wife as his very own self [with behavior worthy of respect and esteem, always seeking the best for her with an attitude of lovingkindness]" (Ephesians 5:33a AMP). "I pray our pastor, as a father, teaches Your Words to his children, talking about them when they sit at home and when they are out walking, at bedtime, and before breakfast" (see Deuteronomy 11:19 TLB).
Let's pray the Word for our pastors today, that they would be a man of honor who seeks personal holiness and walks in integrity. "I pray our pastor is a blameless and upright man, who fears You, God, and turns away from evil" (Job 1:8c ESV). "Let him devote himself to prayer and to the ministry of Your Word" (Acts 6:4 NASB). Amen
Lord, we pray Your Scriptures for all pastors and ministers. We pray that Your words, O God, are sweet to their taste, sweeter than honey to their mouth! May Your commandments give them understanding, hating every false way of life (Psalm 119:103-104). Amen. May our pastors worship You above all else by prizing Your words and Your commandments. Amen.
