Churches in Transition

An important part of Pray the Word Ministries is to consult with churches that are experiencing a transition in leadership.

Resources for the Church in Transition

The tools she uses to lead the congregation into prayer are the Bible, the prayer guide Praying for the Church in Transition, and the prayer ministries she has developed.

Praying for the Church in Transition was birthed out of a season when Mary Ann’s own church was experiencing transition. Mary Ann has uses this prayer guide when consulting with churches, because of the power of the Scriptures and the prayers included within.

Mary Ann created this prayer guide to defend against the tactics of the enemy during times of transition. To read more about this prayer guide, please click here.

Testimonies

Below are some testimonies from churches who reached out to Mary Ann for consulting in times of transition.

Dr. Tom Billings,

United Baptist Association

“Before I became the interim pastor, I asked the search committee to engage Mary Ann and Pray the Word Ministries to help them strengthen and expand their prayer ministry. I could not have been more pleased with the results. Mary Ann worked closely with the church prayer team. Every part of the transition—my work with the staff and congregation, the work of the search committee—has gone smoothly. I am grateful for the work of Pray the Word Ministries and believe the impact on the church will be felt for generations.”

Consecration Team Leader

“The members have commented many times that there is something different in the church now. The interim pastor has also stated that the feeling of the congregation has change for the better. I myself have felt it change from bitterness to hope. The power of prayer is real and Mary Ann has helped us make it real powerful. Since the Consecration Team was formed, I have not missed a service. Mary Ann has helped [my church] and my family do more than just prepare the way for the Holy Spirit but to keep Him near us always.”

Pastor Search Committee

“Back in late Fall, 2018, during one of our Pastor Search Committee meetings, guest speakers: Dr. Tom Billings (former United Baptist Association Director) and Sally Hinzie (UBA), recommended we contact Mary Ann Bridgwater to help lead us in prayer. WOW...little did we realize that the enemy was ready to pounce (1 Peter 5:8). Almost immediately, we were under spiritual attack. But, praises to God!! Great is the VICTORY!! (1 John 3:8).”

Pastor Search Committee

“Mary Ann agreed to lead our Pastor Search Committee in Prayer Training and Consecration Prayer Training, which culminated in a congregational ‘Concert of Prayer.’ Hallelujah!! These are a few of the comments from these events:

‘Powerful!’ ‘...the Holy Spirit is moving...’ ‘I was brought to tears…"‘ ’...such peace and unity when the body prayers together!’
‘...we sensed the presence of God!’”

Pastor

“Times of transition are a challenge for churches. The combination of the unknown and anticipation must lead us to greater faith. May this prayer guide lead you to pray more intelligently and trust more deeply through the transition. I can give firsthand testimony of the power of prayer as I came to [my current church] as the pastor. God used the prayers of the congregation to shape my heart and the church in order to bring the perfect fit in His perfect timing. Be encouraged and on your knees as God guides you from transition to testimony of His work!” - G. M.
