As I was leaving a church worship service many years ago, I was discouraged because I "just didn't know how to pray." I thought, "Lord, send me someone to teach me to pray." Within seconds, I was approached by Charlene Kneisel, a former international missionary.
She handed me a magazine and said, "pray for missionaries." When my family and I got home and settled after lunch, I took the magazine into the privacy of my bedroom and opened it up. There were names of missionaries listed on a calendar by the day of their birth. There was also a verse by each one that was to be used to pray for them. In faith, I began to do just that. After overcoming a little unfamiliarity, I realized I was praying!
That day changed my life. The Lord used other circumstances to teach me more about prayer, but it has always been through praying scriptures.
Your neighborhoods and communities are in need of prayer, and, through the Holy Spirit, you are being invited to join God's activity in Kingdom praying for Community Transformation!
You and I have such a powerful freedom in God TODAY to PRAY!
When God's people worship him in spirit and truth, praying the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, the spiritual atmosphere changes, bringing transformation into your life as well as the lives of the people living in your neighborhood and community.
Your neighborhood ... your community ... needs YOUR prayers!
As you and I pray the God-breathed promises in God's Word, do so expecting that God's word will NOT return to you void but will accomplish that for which He is sending you into your community and neighborhood to do! See Isaiah 55:10-11
