A seven-week guide to Consecration and Surrender

Come discover the transforming power of God through consecration! This journal introduces a biblical practice that has been lost in modern Christian worship. “Consecration is something God does for us, not something we do for ourselves. . . . The most wonderful secret of living a holy life does not lie in imitating Jesus, but letting the perfect qualities of Jesus exhibit themselves in our human flesh” (Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, July 23).

“To consecrate” means to make oneself clean. In keeping with this practice from the Old Testament, this prayer journal leads Christians in presenting themselves before God to be cleansed and consecrated for His service.

This journal uses the PRAY acrostic to assist you in consecration (Praise and Thanksgiving, Repentance, Asking, and Yielding). Two primary aspects of consecration are Repentance and Yielding. This journal will guide you to pray the Scriptures, asking God to reveal Himself and teach you how to offer the parts of your body for use as instruments of His righteousness (Yielding, Romans 6:13). By Repenting, God forgives us and cleanses us from all our unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). In addition, every day you will be led to acknowledge God through Praise and Thanksgiving, and Ask Him to consecrate your mind, heart, eyes, ears, mouth, hands, and feet.
